SPECIFICATIONS:

USE-
Adjustable Shoring Jack for Temporary or Permanent Shoring
Support in heavy load applications.

Top Plate
- 8"x8"x1/2",
4 - Holes 9/16" Dia.,
spaced 1" OC from edges. Tops are Interchangeable with Custom Sizes upon request.

Acme Screw
- 2.875" Dia., Approx. 4 Acme Threads per inch, Galvanized, Length varies.

Adjustment Nut
- Forged and Galvanized for durability, 6" Wide. 4 - 1.063" Dia. Holes as leverage points to make adjustment with 1" dia. Turning Rod (Item #'s BJTB-12, BJTB-24, BJTB-36, BJTB-60).
For permanent shoring applications, simply tighten set screw (on side of nut) to lock nut and prevent unwanted adjustment.
Thrust Bearings inside of nut greatly reduce friction and allow for much easier adjustment under load.

3" Sch. 40 Pipe - 3.5" OD, 3.068" ID, Length varies.

Base Plate - 8"x8"x1/2", 4 - Holes 1/2" Dia. 1/2" OC from edges.
(Custom base available upon request)

*Steel Shores should be attached to a flat solid foundation and should not be subject to any lateral force.  Heavy Duty Steel Shores should be used to support straight vertical loads only.  We recommend tightening set screw in the side of the 4 hole nut with 6mm allen wrench prior to loading.  Before construction begins it is recommended that you consult with certified engineer for approval of our products within your application.

View of Steel Shore Bearings

In the product animation above you will notice the thrust bearings inside the
wing nut. The bearings greatly reduce the amount of friction when the Steel Shore with Roller Bearings - house jackhandle is turned to adjust the height under load.

Unlike the Standard Steel Shore, these with Roller Bearings are built as one complete unit to aid in uplift resistance and do not come apart. Furthermore, we've added a "set screw" in the side of the wing nut, and when tightened down locks the adjustment
handle in place for permanent or long term shoring applications.

The 6" x 6" top plate is attached with a clevis pin and interchangeable with different shapes and sizes. Click here to see a few of the different tops to choose from:  STEEL SHORE TOPS.
*All Load Capacities include a 2.5 to 1 Factor of Safety.

*Steel Shores should be attached to a flat solid foundation.  Steel Shores should not be subject to any lateral force.  Steel Shore should be used to support straight vertical loads only.  We recommend tightening set screw in the side of the wing nut with 6mm allen wrench prior to loading.  Before construction begins it is recommended that you consult with a certified engineer for approval of our products within your application.

In the product animation above you will notice how the Light Duty Steel Shore operates. Simply turn the wing nut to adjust the height. Once the desired height has been reached use a 6mm Allen wrench to tighten the set screw located on the side of the wing nut. This will lock the wing nut into place to keep the shore from further adjustment.

This product will not resist uplift. In the animation above notice how the screw drops into the pipe and the wing nut rests directly on the edges of the pipe where no positive connection between the pipe and bottom side of the wing nut is made. If uplift resistance is needed, please see the Light Duty Steel Shores WITH BEARINGS and Heavy Duty Steel Shores.
